Middletown, NY - Garnet Health seeks a dynamic, distinguished executive to serve as its next President & Chief Executive Officer. The President & CEO (CEO) will provide strategic and operational direction for this independent, thriving health system in Middletown, New York. This is a terrific opportunity to shape how care is delivered throughout Garnet Health's area. Recruitment is underway due to the planned retirement of the current CEO, who is retiring in late 2021 after 15 years serving the health system.
Garnet Health is a top-performing health system that is anchored by a modern, tertiary teaching hospital and has numerous awards for its gorgeous physical plant and advanced technologies, as well as a growing employed medical group that is fed by a vibrant GME program. Garnet Health offers a broad array of services not typically found in a community health system, and Garnet Health is expected to gain Certificate of Need approval for an open heart program this year with an expected first case to be performed in 2022. This is a unique opportunity to run a successful and financially strong health system in growing area of New York State that is just over one hour drive from New York City.
The CEO of Garnet Health will lead the organization and continue the strong momentum and focus on achieving excellence in service, clinical quality, and financial performance. He/she will embrace and consistently model Garnet Health's values, which are centered on delivering compassionate care to its patients. This focus has differentiated Garnet Health and has cultivated pride and loyalty within the organization and community. The CEO will have a strong record of working collaboratively with an independent Board, in addition to building close working relationships with all providers and staff. He/she will partner with others to refine and advance strategic priorities and communicate a clear and compelling vision and roadmap for the future; the CEO will inspire the Board, providers, employees, and the community to work toward that vision collaboratively.
The CEO will be a sought-out resource on healthcare issues from various political, civic, and other leaders in the region. It is imperative that solid relationships with those leaders and elected officials be maintained and nurtured, and that the CEO be active in the community. He/she will be the "face of the organization" internally to the providers and staff, externally throughout the broad service area, and at a state level. The CEO will need to lead with integrity and transparency and build strong and trusted professional relationships with all internal and external partners. The CEO must be a visible, authentic, engaging leader who will provide focus to providers and employees.
