The Medical College Physicians (MCP) Associate Vice President of Finance is a key senior leader on the MCP administrative team acting on behalf of the MCP Practice Plan to collaborate with the clinical departments and Froedtert Health (FH) leadership to optimize financial performance with a focus on revenue optimization, affiliate support contracts, funds flow, cost/expense control and provider productivity. The AVP interacts with senior leaders and works with other areas of Finance across the enterprise as necessary to provide financial and operational performance data, information and other materials that help shape decisions on business strategy and tactics to help achieve business outcomes.
Primary Functions and Responsibilities:
Provides leadership to create comprehensive monthly financial packages, and daily, weekly, and/or monthly key performance reports, designed to support management decision making. Leads the development of high impact practice analytics.
Oversees MCP Practice Funds Flow model.
Collaborates with MCW and FH CFOs on annual budgets, financial analysis, long range plans and financial performance.
Oversees MCP Mission Based budgeting and monthly reporting and analysis within MCP Clinical Departments.
In conjunction with MCP COO manages total affiliate funds flow model including all components: Fixed clinical investment portfolio, Variable, and Contractual.
Partners with key leaders in revenue cycle, managed care, legal and compliance as necessary.
Serves as key liaison with MCW/Community Physicians/Froedtert Health partners representing MCP practice financial interests in clinical enterprise initiatives and operational opportunities.
Maintains key relationships with clinical department chairs, clinical department administrators, and MCP administration.
Represents the MCP COO and/or MCP CEO as needed in meetings with key partners and constituents.
Develops and utilizes effective monitoring systems to assure financial performance goals are attained.
Prepares and presents financial reports and analyses to key stakeholders as requested.
Oversees Manager of Strategic Financial Planning.
Serves on key committees and builds positive working relationships and develops effective lines of communication with executives and other applicable staff both internally and externally to MCP.
Partners with the COO and MCW CFO in providing leadership, vision, and engagement of key constituency groups to support the execution of and achievement of strategic business objectives.
Drives innovation and automation of various processes and functions within Finance to ensure optimal use of system capability and efficiency of resources.
Coordinates the development and implementation of the financial planning cycle including the annual operating mission-based budget, and long-range strategic financial plan; as well as the development and implementation of financial corrective action plans designed to achieve optimal performance.
Leads, collaborates on, and approves all business plans developed with Froedtert Health.
Supports workforce planning activities through advanced analytic support for financial modeling.
Advanced degree required. Master’s in Business Administration (MBA), Healthcare Administration (MHA), Public Health (MPH).
Minimum of 12 years of experience in a complex healthcare environment with duties in the areas of financial process management, financial analysis, financial modeling, financial projections, managerial accounting and financial statement preparation.
Strong knowledge of practice analytics with demonstrated proficiency of advanced analytical tools such as Oracle, Cognos, Qlik, or other BI tools.
Healthcare experience required.
Financial responsibility of $300M in revenue or larger entity.
A practice management or consulting background preferred with experience in healthcare economics or reimbursement.
