UR Medicine Home Care (URMHC), the home care affiliate of the University of Rochester, seeks a dynamic and visionary leader to serve as President and CEO who will provide strategic and operational leadership for a large home care agency in upstate NY. The President and CEO is accountable for assuring URMHC achieves its mission, vision and strategic goals, and will lead the organization’s efforts to be the national and regional leader for providing outstanding health care at home as demonstrated by clinical best practice, innovative services, workforce excellence and superior patient outcomes.
About UR Medicine Home Care
UR Medicine Home Care is a vibrant and growing organization providing a comprehensive range of programs and services to support the health and wellness of 20,000 people a year in a seven county region of upstate New York. Founded in 1919 as a Public Health Nurses Association, the agency became Visiting Nurse Service of Rochester and Monroe County (VNS) in 1940. In 1998 VNS affiliated with the University of Rochester, and in 2013 joined with the Finger Lakes Visiting Nurse Service to create a large and extensive home care agency with an employed workforce of 750 people, operating in partnership with the University of Rochester Medical Center’s system of care.
UR Medicine Home Care is under the corporate umbrella of the University of Rochester. UR Medicine Home Care Inc. is the parent company of four corporate entities which house a range of programs and services. The NYS Article 36 home health agencies include a Certified Home Health Agency (CHHA) and two Licensed Home Care Service Agencies (LHCSA). Programs/services under the Article 36 agencies include pediatric and perinatal care, home infusion, hospice and palliative care, Health Home care management, and Nurse Family Partnership. Non-licensed programs operating under a separate 501(c)(3) include Telehealth, Assistive Technology and a large Meals On Wheels program with over 1,800 volunteers delivering over 1,000 meals a day. There is also a separate 501(c)(3) corporate entity for the Foundation with a dedicated Board of Directors.
Master’s degree in a health related or business field. Clinical licensure and/or background in patient care delivery a plus (e.g., Registered Nurse, Physician, Rehabilitation Therapist, Advance Practice Professional)
Must have 5-10 years of progressive experience in leadership and management. Experience within a health system and/or academic medical center preferred.
Demonstrated success as a visionary thinker, with the ability to plan for the future.
Expert knowledge in the health industry. Home care expertise preferred. Knowledge of state and federal regulatory requirements.
