The Executive Director, Center for Health System Research (herein, “CHSR”) is the strategic, financial, and operational lead of CHSR. The Executive Director is responsible for the overall quality, volume, and impact of research and digital health technology initiatives undertaken by CHSR, as well as optimizing the access to and use of data for research.
The Executive Director is also responsible for ensuring the sustainability of CHSR. To that end, the Executive Director will partner with the CRO to lead fundraising initiatives with Sutter Health Philanthropy, facilitate opportunities for program level funding of research, recruit and mentor top-tier research investigators, develop strategically-aligned collaborations, and enhance the national visibility for CHSR as a leader in the role of research in healthcare transformation. This position is also expected to contribute scientifically, ideally leading their own research program in outcome-based research, digital health science and or health equity.
May work at the Walnut Creek Research office but most days, work may be done remotely (work from home option).
PhD (or similar doctorate degree) in a field of research or equivalent education/experience
15+ years as a successful scientist and investigator
Successful track record of grant and contract funding
10+ years of health systems research management responsibility
Experience in digital health or analytical product development preferred
Excellent written, oral and electronic communication skills
Excellent analytic, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated knowledge of health care systems, and diverse clinical practice settings strongly preferred
Demonstrated knowledge of health care clinical data strongly preferred
