The AVP for Talent Acquisition Strategy will be responsible for the strategy, planning, and execution of talent acquisition strategic goal across the System. The AVP will report to the Senior Vice President of System Human Resources and will partner with Human Resources, Nursing, Social Work, Marketing and other stakeholders/leaders to promote best practices in talent acquisition. Research and suggest partnerships with external organizations in order to identify foreign nurses and manage the sponsorship visa process with our legal department. The AVP supports diversity talent acquisition strategies, efficient hiring practices, best practices, effective recruitment technology. This senior HR role will be responsible for leading and coaching a team to meet high volume business demands to support organizational growth.
Responsibilities will include: • Manage and track vacancy data across the system. • Travel to H+H locations to meet with leaders to understand staffing needs and to provide strategic guidance on talent acquisition practices. • Create, steer, and evolve a broad talent strategy that aligns with H+H’s Strategic priorities and anticipates the needs of the business and growth. • Develop strategic business drivers, organizational vision, and key operating effectiveness for delivering critical, integrated talent strategies. • Implement innovative approaches to build and engage inclusive candidate pipelines. • Provide direction on recruiting reporting including but not limited to maintaining a metrics dashboard. • Create a structure to assess, and create a strategic recruitment plan in an effort to transform the recruitment process, improve recruitment efforts, including developing creative approaches to attract talent; aligning the hiring process and candidate experience, enhancing the System’s employment brand; and ensuring that recruiting and hiring practices are compliant with employment laws. • Project future talent acquisition needs, align hiring strategy to longer term workforce plans, analyzing market trends that impact labor supply & demand. • Implement and administer workforce planning and analytics; develop metrics and tracking mechanisms, and other planning and measurement tools to build accountability and monitor results, impact and cost-effectiveness of the talent acquisition process across the System. • Proactively develop strategic relationships and engagement strategies with identified universities, technical and diverse organizations & referral networks to support efforts related to student learning programs, early careers, and diversity workforce recruitment initiatives. • Determine optimal strategies for sourcing candidates, including leveraging external organizations, employee referrals, social media, job boards, campus career centers, and other avenues. • Manage and enhance relationships with vendor partners, including colleges, schools, search firms, advertising resources, job boards, and social media platforms. • Establish innovative and best-practice processes for assessing talent, including screening criteria, behavioral based interview formats, etc. • Ensure new managers are trained in interviewing; develop/update interviewing guides; Develop tools and training for System Talent Acquisition/HR staff. • Manage budget and procurement process to ensure we align budget to the system needs. • Develop metrics that help assess outcomes and drive strategy.
Other related duties
1. A Master's degree in hospital administration, health care planning, business administration, public administration or an approved related program and seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in health and medical service administration, public administration, n, personnel and labor relations, finance or appropriate functional discipline with an emphasis on planning, liaison and interorganizational relationships, or related administrative or managerial functions; or 2. A Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in health and medical service administration, public administration, personnel and labor relations, finance or appropriate functional discipline with an emphasis on planning, liaison and interorganizational relationships, or related administrative or managerial functions; or 3. A satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and experience. However, all candidates must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree.
Preference will be given to qualified candidates with the following knowledge, abilities, education, experience, certifications and/or skills:
• Advanced degree and clinical background • 5+ years of executive level HR/Talent Acquisition leadership experience within a large healthcare system; experience working in a matrix organization; strong communicator • SHRM or HR/Talent Acquisition certification • Knowledge and understanding of federal, state, city, and local laws, department of labor rules and regulations relevant to staffing/employment • Experience partnering and working collaboratively with senior level administrators • Working knowledge of Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) • Advanced experience in developing talent acquisition strategy • Ability to work in a diverse community • Ability and experience working in a “lean Six Sigma” environment
