HARTZ Search invites you to explore an exciting opportunity with our client, Southeast Georgia Health System, located in Brunswick, GA, for the Executive Director, Cardiovascular. Southeast Georgia Health System consists of 3 acute care hospitals, including a children’s hospital, 2 Skilled Nursing Facilities, a 200-member employed provider group, and a 70,000-member health plan serving a 6-county region in southeast Georgia. The Cardiovascular Service Line Executive Director will work collaboratively with the service line medical director and key stakeholders across Southeast Georgia Health System to advance the growth of the cardiovascular service line. SGHS is also a GME teaching facility with 36 residents (internal medicine, family medicine, pediatrics, and Obstetrics and Gynecology). This leader will serve as a key resource to physician and nursing leadership, hospital administration, practice administration, and department leadership. The Cardiovascular Service Line director will report directly to the Chief Growth and Strategy Officer and is responsible to, advance an enterprise-wide approach to service line development thru the design and implementation of a strategic plan consistent with the Health System’s objectives, achieving measurable benefits to the organization thru the growth of the service line, enabling Southeast Georgia Health System to better serve and attract more members of our community and the greater region, and differentiate our services by driving quality which leads to excellent clinical outcomes.
Reports to the Chief Growth and Strategy Officer
5 Direct Reports, 185 Full-Time Employees, $10M Budget, and revenues of $50M
The service line director will have shared accountability with the Medical Director of Cardiovascular Services in the areas of:
Service (patient and consumer experience) as measured from CAHPS surveys and net promoter scores
Growth rate of service line as measured by volume, revenue, new patients and Market Share capture
Stewardship as measured by improving margin and cost per unit of service
The service line director will have direct accountability for;
Five-year strategic and annual business plans development and implementation
New program development
Interdisciplinary relationships with other clinical and operations leaders to promote a team approach to the development and implementation of a seamless, efficient and patient-focused program.
The service line director will act as a key advisor with regard to the service area:
Marketing plan development
Facility design and improvements
Reimbursement and payer strategy
Compliance and regulatory matters
Information technology (platform, integration, workflow)
Education: Bachelor's Degree, Master’s Degree in Business, Nursing, Public Health, or Healthcare Administration preferred.
Experience: 5 Years of Healthcare Operations Leadership Experience, 3 Years of Healthcare Service Line Experience Preferred. 1-2 Years Strategic Planning Required
Skills: Physician relations, sound financial acumen, positive attitude, strong communication and interpersonal skills, self-sufficient, ability to manage multiple tasks, a superior degree of professionalism, strong problem-solving/decision-making ability, understand the fundamental principles of strategic planning and operations
