ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND The National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc. (NCSBN) is a nonprofit organization whose membership is comprised of the nursing regulatory bodies in the 50 states, the District of Columbia and four U.S. territories—American Samoa, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, and the Virgin Islands. There are five exam user members as well as 25 associate members that are either nursing regulatory bodies or empowered regulatory authorities from other countries or territories.  NCSBN has an annual operating budget of $95 million, with over 150 professional staff members.
