UC Davis Health seeks a dynamic and passionate executive to serve as its Chief Contracting Officer and Executive Director of Managed Care and Pharmacy Contracting (CCO). Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the CCO is a critical part of the finance team and is responsible for the development and periodic refinement of the enterprise managed care contracting, health plan and pharmacy contracting strategic design and planning for UC Davis Health. In this role, the individual will conduct continual market surveillance related to managed care and pharmacy contracting and is responsible for the operational components to organize, develop and manage those contracts. The CCO also serves on a number of health system committees including Medical Center Leadership Cabinet, Population Health Executive Steering Committee, and serves as co-chair for the Payor Strategies Committee.

In this role, the CCO will:
Provide ultimate oversight and responsibility for all UCDH health plan and provider agreements, and develop strategies based on market position to optimize UC Davis financial position in the contracting marketplace.
Develop and implement policies and procedures for contract development, negotiation and administration, as well as evaluation and enhancement of existing policies to address regulatory and operational requirements.
Oversee and direct contracting team that negotiates with third party payers (private and governmental managed care and fee for service) covering hospital, physician, home infusion, home health and other specified services at UCDH. Establish annual departmental goals and modify as needed.
Provide insights and guidance on value-based payment models and contract options. Serve on various UCDH VBP committees.
Collaborate with various UCDH stakeholder groups to Strategy and Growth to recommend managed care growth strategies and ensure general alignment with the Clinical Strategic Plan and organization's financial projections.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience dealing with payor executives, AMC executives and complex boards. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s Degree in hospital administration, business administration or health related field; a Master’s Degree in hospital administration, business administration or health related field is preferred.
The estimated salary range for this position is $213,000-$450,200. Position is eligible to participate in CEMRP2 bonus, targeting 15% annually.
