Washington Hospital Healthcare System is seeking an exceptional leader to assume the position of Vice President, Chief Nursing Officer (VP/CNO). Nursing at Washington Hospital Healthcare System has a superb reputation internally and externally. This is a great opportunity for a collaborative nursing executive to balance high-level clinical effectiveness with strategy and strong business acumen.
Washington Hospital Healthcare System is the premier nonprofit healthcare system serving the residents of Fremont, Newark, Union City, and part of South Hayward and unincorporated Sunol, encompassing approximately 124 square miles of Southern Alameda County. Located in Fremont, California, Washington Hospital Healthcare System has grown to include a 415 licensed-bed, acute-care hospital and outpatient services, including ASC's. The VP/CNO will partner with an exceptionally high performing team and enjoy a strong level of support across the organization.
The VP/CNO will continue to elevate the professional practice of nursing and build strong partnerships across the enterprise. This next leader will be charged with maintaining a just and inclusive culture of collaboration, listening, and accountability. The successful candidate will be an authentic, visible to the organization, collaborative, and a strategic nursing leader with a track record of elevating nursing practice, leading measurable improvements to quality and cost of care and transforming culture ideally gained through experience as a CNO or nursing leader in a large, sophisticated organization. The VP/CNO must have a minimum of seven years of administrative responsibility within a complex health system with progressive experience in nursing leadership positions at the senior level. Prior leadership experience with Magnet®, shared governance, labor unions, and the ability to influence culture are highly desirable.
