Your New Role – Executive Director, Board of Pharmacy!
The Oregon Board of Pharmacy has an exceptional opportunity for an experienced leader to serve as their Board's Executive Director. The Executive Director is appointed by the nine-member Board with approval of the Governor. Once appointed the person selected will serve at the pleasure of the Governor under the direct supervision of the Board. The Executive Director is responsible for the overall direction of the agency in supporting the Board’s mission to promote, preserve and protect the public health, safety, and welfare by ensuring high standards in the practice of pharmacy and by regulating the quality, manufacture, sale, and distribution of drugs. This is a full-time, executive service position located in Portland, Oregon. If you are hired, you will become part of the State’s Executive Service team.
The Executive Director directs the day-to-day operations of the agency. Supervision of staff setting agency goals, objective, and policies, obtaining funding, developing programs, and ensuring that services are in compliance with state and federal laws and regulations. Three (3) years of management experience in a public or private organization which included responsibility for development of program rules or policies; development of long- and short-range goals and plans; management of staff; program evaluation; and budget preparation.
Experience developing and implementing diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives.
Licensed Pharmacist or Licensed Pharmacy Technician
Ability to build consensus-based solutions in politically charged environments.
Knowledge of State Rules
Experience with controlled substance compliance
