The Center for Health Care Services (CHCS), in partnership with the University of Texas Health Sciences Center at San Antonio, seeks a Chief Medical Officer (CMO). CHCS serves as the public mental health agency for Bexar County. The CMO oversees all licensed medical services provided throughout CHCS and is responsible for the effective and efficient leadership of provider performance. Other duties include operationalizing strategic plans, managing compliance and risk and maintaining relationships with academic and community-based organizations on a local, state and national level. The Center for Health Care Services provides quality integrated care to improve the lives of children and adults with mental health conditions, substance use challenges and intellectual or developmental disabilities. Minimum Qualifications:
MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
Completion of an accredited psychiatric residency program
10 years of post-graduate clinical experience
5 or more years of supervisory / leadership experience Preferred Qualifications
Subspecialty certifications in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Forensic Psychiatry or Addiction Psychiatry / Addiction Medicine
Advanced degrees such as Master of Public Health, Master of Health Care Administration, Master of Business Administration, Certified Physician Executive or equivalent
Experience in Community Behavioral Health Licenses or Certifications
Current physician license to practice medicine in the State of Texas
Current Drug Enforcement Agency Substance Registration Certificate
Board certification in General Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
