CHRISTUS Health Philanthropy Services provides centralized operational functions to more than a dozen philanthropic entities that support the CHRISTUS Health system. The Executive Director of Development reports directly to the System Director, Philanthropy & Administrative Services, Chief Development Office in Irving, Texas and will focus on providing executive level leadership and management of the comprehensive activities of Philanthropy Services, including database administration, gift processing, constituent records, reporting and documentation, and prospect research and management. The Executive Director of Development will lead the integration of various Blackbaud Raiser's Edge and Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT donor databases across the system. They will be responsible for bringing industry standards, strategies, and vision to CHRISTUS Health Philanthropy Services. The Executive Director of Development will also be responsible for providing direction and leadership for how technology supports and propels advancement, holding primary responsibilities for quality, accuracy and thoroughness of the donor database and data management in support of philanthropic entities across the CHRISTUS Health system. The Executive Director of Development will foster a spirit of collaboration and customer service throughout the Philanthropy Services unit.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead and coordinate all activities in the areas of database administration, gift processing, constituent records, reporting and documentation, prospect research and management, and related technology support, ensuring that all systems and business practices effectively support Philanthropy and its internal and external constituents.
Lead and coordinate the centralization of various Blackbaud Raiser's Edge and Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT databases.
Coach and manage a team of operations specialists. The Executive Director of Development will develop staff competencies and support the management budget resources.
Analyze current and emerging trends in advancement services and provide strategic approaches to improve CHRISTUS Health's current and future fundraising activities.
Develop and implement plans to improve the effectiveness of current systems. This includes software solutions as well as business practices.
Ensure adherence to IRS gift policies and other standards for gift acceptance and reporting.
Develop innovative solutions to impediments that hinder the effectiveness of the fundraising operation.
Participate in decision making that affects the priorities of Philanthropy Services.
Experience:
A minimum of five to seven years of demonstrated success overseeing of all data administration functions within a complex advancement operation including gift processing and database administration.
Complete proficiency in Blackbaud Raiser's Edge and Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT is essential.
The position requires comfort and extensive experience with integrating information from diverse sources.
Excellent proofreading and editing skills; strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills are essential; ability to prioritize work and general office procedures.
Strong analytical, research, writing and organizational skills; attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
Experience working in a healthcare advancement environment is a plus.
