Reporting to the president and chief executive officer (CEO) of The Christ Hospital Health Network, the vice president and chief operating officer (COO) is responsible for the effective and efficient operations of the Network, which includes all hospitals, ambulatory outpatient centers, service lines, outpatient/ ambulatory hospital-based outpatient services, and other business operations.
The COO serves as a key advisor, trusted consultant, confidante, and partner to the CEO and other senior executives and physician leaders. This individual is the highest-ranking executive in the absence of the CEO. As a key member of the executive team, the COO will interact with the board and with medical staff leaders across The Christ Hospital Health Network. He or she will be a key participant in executive-level performance improvement, strategic planning, operational planning, and policy development committees.
Ideal Profile:
An MBA, MSN, MHA or other master’s degree (or higher) in an operational management or financial discipline; dual-degree candidates are highly desired
If background is of a clinical nature, a minimum of a master’s degree in that related field of study, with demonstration of commensurate operational experience is required
Member or fellow of ACHE, and/or industry certifications in Lean/Six Sigma, ISO, or similar operational performance/performance management systems (preferred)
A minimum of 10 years of progressively increasing supervisory/management experience, with at least five years at the vice president level or higher (or commensurate responsibilities in a large healthcare system)
A track record of administrative and operational responsibility in an integrated health system
Strong experience with data analytics and digital transformation activities (preferred)
The Christ Hospital Health Network is an extensive integrated delivery system compromised of 7,200 employees, 1,200 credentialed physicians, 650 employed providers, and 600 volunteers, serving patients in more than 100 locations throughout Greater Cincinnati. The Christ Hospital Health Network includes the main hospital campus in Mt.
