Responsible for the management, oversight, and adherence to federal, state, and correctional health care standards and institutional regulations and guidelines in the provision of medical care for the facilities contracted by company. Oversight of all medical services provided at correctional facilities where company is contracted to provide medical services.
Mentor, supervise and assist in guiding all site clinical providers (Physicians, NPs, PAs) with daily site operations, maintaining daily contact through conference calls, periodic on-site visits, chart reviews, and Peer Reviews.
Establishment of cost-effective, system-wide medical practice policies and procedures which comply with all applicable community standards of care and relevant licensing and accrediting agencies requirements.
Participate in credentialing and annual peer reviews for all company practitioners.
Perform Utilization Management (UM) reviews and approvals for all requests of company, including approval of off-site referrals and appointments, and non-formulary pharmaceutical requests.
Complete annual reviews of manuals and quarterly formulary reviews and updates. Work with the Director of Clinical Operations to update clinical guidelines, protocols, and manuals as needed.
Promote compliance with established policies through training, oversight and systematic review of all the medical practitioners providing care at facilities; Perform annual peer-reviews for all practitioners.
Provide direct care services as needed to cover site.
Provide after-hours telephone on-call coverage system-wide as needed.
Represent company as its Corporate Medical Director as needed in discussions, negotiations, reviews, and/or policy development sessions with customers, vendors and other outside agencies.
Represent company as Corporate Medical Director and Correctional Expert in petitions and litigation to the Court.
Represent company as Corporate Medical Director as needed in its business development ventures
Instruct Professional Staff to complete and maintain, in a timely manner, complete medical records, claims and correspondence with respect to the services provided under this Agreement
Instruct medical practitioner staff to abide by the by-laws, law, regulations and policies of all the correctional facilities in which company is responsible for the care
Participate in the recruitment and scheduling of medical practitioners
Maintain or obtain all necessary licenses and certifications in all current and future service locales; and
Be operationally accountable to the Executive Director of Correctional Services and clinically accountable to the President/CEO
Serve as Chair of M&M reviews at all company contracted facilities.
Multi-state experience preferred., NY, NJ and surrounding states.
Completion from an accredited medical school facility with a degree of Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO)
Completion of a US based residency program. Current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in all states considered north east region of US
Current, active Board Certification in a primary medicine specialty.
Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA, DEA-X) registration and Controlled Dangerous Substance (CDS) registration
Board Certification in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine preferred.
CCHP/CCHP-P preferred

At least 10 years of public health, emergency, family practice experience
