The Department of Public Health’s CD Branch is accepting applications for one (1) Full-Time position in class 2232 Senior Physician Specialist to serve as the Deputy Director.
The Deputy Director, CD Branch, under the direction of the CD Branch Director, will be responsible for: (a) providing clinical leadership, subject matter expertise, operational guidance, and program and personnel supervision for the Immunization Program team that is tasked with obtaining and distributing vaccine supply and implementing vaccination campaigns in San Francisco; (b) serving as Medical Director of SFDPH’s Adult Immunization & Travel Clinic (AITC), including supervision of the clinic’s administrative and clinical personnel; and (c) supporting CD control activities within the Branch, including backing up the CD Controller and participating in the CD physician overnight call pool.
Minimum Requirements
Current valid CA licensure issued by the Medical Board of California or the Osteopathic Medical Board of California*
Current valid Board Certification in the appropriate medical specialty area for the assigned facility or division.**
*Applicants possessing a valid license to practice medicine issued from another state within the United States of America may apply, but if selected, the candidate will NOT be appointed/hired until they obtain a valid license to practice medicine issued by the Medical Board of California or the Osteopathic Medical Board of California.
**Applicants enrolled in a residency program may apply, but if selected, the candidate will NOT be appointed/hired until they demonstrate successful completion of a residency program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education or American Osteopathic Association in the appropriate medical specialty area for the assigned facility, obtain a valid license to practice medicine issued by the Medical Board of California or the Osteopathic Medical Board of California, and obtain valid Board Certification in the appropriate medical specialty area for the assigned facility or division.
For some positions, possession of valid Drug Enforcement Agency registration with the United States Department of Justice is a special condition that is required in addition to the standard minimum qualifications associated with this job classification.
