We are excited to share, Wellstar Medical Group (WMG) is seeking an accomplished healthcare executive to serve as Vice President, WMG Operations – Hospital Division. This highly visible leadership role provides enterprise-level operational oversight for hospital-based medicine practices, urgent care centers, and post-acute services across a large, integrated medical group. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer of WMG, this position plays a critical role in shaping the strategic and operational direction of this large division.

Wellstar Health has more than 30,000 team members, 11 hospitals, 325+ medical office locations, 8 cancer centers, 35 imaging centers, 28 urgent care locations, 5 health parks, and a growing health plan. 

WMG comprises more than 1,150 physicians, over 800 advanced practice providers, and 2,700 team members delivering care across the entire health system portfolio of services spanning seven counties to include an academic medical center.

As a senior member of the Wellstar Medical Group leadership team, the Vice President will influence system-wide initiatives, enhance operations, oversee performance management, lead integration of current and future practices partnering with physician leaders, support physician and advanced practitioner engagement, and ensure compliance with regulatory, licensing, and reimbursement requirements. The new VP will work in tandem with clinical leadership to advance quality, safety, patient experience, and access to care. The successful candidate will be a relationship-driven leader with the ability to navigate complex organizational dynamics, align diverse stakeholders, and deliver measurable results in growth, operational performance, and patient outcomes.

Key Selection Criteria for this position includes the following:

• A Master’s degree in business, healthcare administration, or related field.
• 10-15 years of experience in a hospital medicine, urgent care or post-acute leadership position with experience in hospital medicine preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience in a multiple-practice structure that includes integrated delivery specialties.
• Experience in the care continuum, transitioning to ambulatory care to specialty care as well as to acute care settings.
• Proven success in impacting and improving patient experience on inpatient and outpatient settings in partnership with multiple care teams.
• Superb physician relationship skills and the ability to work with physicians, other providers and WMG leaders to establish and meet short- and long-term strategic practice goals.
• Visible leader with highly developed leadership and interpersonal skills as well as excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
