SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Penn State Health offers an exciting opportunity to manage and direct the internal audit function of a rapidly growing health system!
Responsible for directing the Internal Audit function to provide independent, objective assurance and consulting services designed to add value and improve PSH operations by assisting all levels of management in accomplishing their objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluating and improving the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management, and governance processes. Candidate will work under the guidance and direction of the Executive Vice President, Business Risk Services, and will have access to the Audit and Compliance Committee of the Penn State Health (PSH) Board of Directors. This position is responsible for coordinating and directing all internal audit functions while partnering with executive leaders to support their ongoing efforts to drive operational improvements and financial, operational, and compliance controls for PSH and all of its subsidiary entities. Candidate will manage and develop the in-house internal audit team as well as direct and oversee any 3rd party internal audit vendor relationships (technology providers, co-source service providers, etc.).
Bachelor's degree required in accounting, finance, business administration or a related field.
Minimum fifteen (15) years progressive experience in an audit role and at least five (5) years internal audit management experience required, preferably at an executive level.
Certification as a Certified Internal Auditor (or equivalent*) required, or obtain Certified Internal Auditor (or equivalent*) within a year of eligibility. Additional professional certifications such as Certified Public Accountant, Certified Fraud Examiner, Certified Information Systems Auditor, etc. desired.
Demonstrated facilitation, communication, and executive presentation skills.
Proven track record of leading and managing large size divisions and/or departments with a diverse clientele.
Demonstrated ability to organize and/or consult on large and complex programs, including information technology system pre-implementation controls testing procedures.
Experience in enterprise risk management and corporate governance activities.
