LeeSar operates 6 distinct pharmacy business units, including two central fill facilities for Florida based member hospitals under a Class III Institutional Pharmacy Permit. LeeSar provides member facilities medication replenishment for their automated dispensing cabinets (ADC), crash and OR cart replenishment services, radiopharmaceuticals, critical medications compounded under a closed door 503B and services local emergency medical services. The pharmacies also provide prepacking and repackaging services for specialized packs, oral solids and liquids which are distributed through ADC replenishment or on a bill-to/ship-to status.
Cooperative Services of Florida (CSF) operates the Safe Harbor Group Purchasing Organization that member facilities participate in with partnership through Vizient's national GPO services with over $800M in pharmaceutical spend under management. CSF is the largest aggregation group through Vizient in the state of Florida services - Lee Health, Sarasota Memorial Health, Jupiter Health, Central Florida (Leesburg & Villages) and the University of Florida.
The Executive Director of Pharmacy will manage all aspects of the 503B, under support of the pharmacy operations & compliance coordinator and Executive Director of Quality, the Emergency Medicine Department for fire and EMS, tray services, and partner when necessary, with the ED of Pharmacy over the Centralized Distribution Facilities.
The ED of Pharmacy will be a facilitator for additional opportunities to grow the business, demonstration of cost savings and new member onboarding. The Executive Director will manage and revise when necessary policies and operational procedures in order to provide compliance with regulatory bodies, manage staff through internal supervisors and managers and be responsible for the day to day operations, quality improvement, lean process efficiencies, performance enhancement, staffing and scheduling, technology solutions, human resource development, training, billing, and overall management of the department under direction of the VP of Pharmacy Services.
Responsibilities also include the adherence of performance standards, developing efficient staffing patterns, participating in interviewing candidates for open positions, training new associates, conducting annual performance appraisals and approving paid time off, etc.
The Executive Director of Pharmacy assumes a leadership role in maintaining policies and instituting practice models that promote medication safety, shortage management and cost efficient distribution of drugs in all aspects of the medication management process ensuring all aspects of quality during the medication distribution processes. Responsibilities also include the adherence of performance standards, developing efficient staffing patterns, participating in interviewing candidates for open positions, training new associates, conducting annual performance appraisals and approving paid time off, etc.
The Executive Director of Central Fill Services assumes a leadership role in maintaining policies and instituting practice models that promote medication safety, shortage management and cost-efficient distribution of drugs in all aspects of the medication management process.
Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy with a Pharm.D. Degree is required.
PGY1/PGY2 HSPAL or Masters in business administration preferred.
Five years of experience in hospital pharmacy in a supervisory/management role. Experience in consolidated pharmacy distribution model a plus.
Registered Pharmacist in the State of Florida, required.
Licensed as a Consultant Pharmacist in the State of Florida, preferred.
