Lead strategic alignment with partners: Mission and Ministry, Health Equity, AH Clinical, Population Health and Tax.
Represent and engage with key partners and associations to promote and align work with community advocacy.
Oversee the strategic development and implementation of the Community Resource Network, serving as an active participant of the governance committee.
Partner with Government Advocacy and Regulatory Advocacy on the development of strategic advocacy plans to target AdventHealth advocacy priorities.
Identify and pursue opportunities to provide data-driven insights and strategies across downline work efforts and functions
Oversee the development and implementation of standard and meaningful community benefit reporting.
Participates in systemwide efforts to identify, prioritize, measure, and track social determinants of health goals and strategies
Oversee and direct multi-million-dollar budgets for community giving, sponsorships and Collaborative Community Council (CCC) grants for the Central Florida Division (CFD, working with the system director for Community Engagement and Community Benefit.
Collaborates with Heath Equity to identify community needs that may be exacerbating health equity issues within our hospitals.
Collaborates with executives and leaders across all corporate functions and operational divisions to facilitate, coordinate and implement the portfolio of strategic initiatives that have been prioritized by senior leaders.
Serves as an internal consultant and subject matter expert to workstreams, affiliates and other stakeholders on incorporating a community advocacy lens into their respective work areas.
Actively scans and seeks out role model organizational practices and processes both from within and outside of health care industry and then works with senior leadership to deploy to operations
What You Will Need:
Master's degree in public health or related field
10+ years of related work experience in public policy, community health, community benefit or health care setting.
5+ years leadership experience
The Executive Director of Community Advocacy will lead the development and execution of systemwide strategies around community advocacy. Under the direction of the Senior Vice President of Advocacy and Public Policy, the Executive Director will lead the strategic alignment of planning and work effort for community benefit, community engagement/community resource network and community health and health equity through focus on the Social Determinants of Health. In this role, The Executive Director will work collaboratively with the system's Public Policy, Government Advocacy, Regulatory Advocacy and Health Equity teams to establish and lead a cohesive, systemwide strategy ensuring that high-priority determinants of the health impacting AdventHealth patients are assessed and addressed in the communities we serve. The goal under our mission to extend Christ's healing ministry is for all AdventHealth's patients to receive equitable whole-person care that attends to the body, mind, and spirit. The Executive Director will also ensure the Community Advocacy division works collaboratively with community leaders – including faith leaders, foundations, and non-profit organizations – to improve the health of our communities by strategically addressing the social determinants of health outlined in our Community Health Needs Assessments.
